Meet the Artist - Currie Kilpatrick Boyd
Currie Kilpatrick Boyd, an Augusta, Georgia native, began her
artistic career in New York City where she studied wedding cake
design at Peter Kump’s Culinary School. During the numerous
weddings she attended as a cake designer, she realized that
bridal parties and guests were often in need of inspired
accessories. Currie began to explore jewelry design in her free
time and, after moving to Aspen, Colorado in 1997, she turned
her personal pursuit into a career path and began training under
award winning designer, Marya Dabrowski. Currie moved to
Charleston, South Carolina in 2001 and launched her own line of
jewelry, Nicholas Lane, naming it for the street she lived on in
Aspen.
She hand selects gemstones at exclusive showrooms and trade
shows across the country and is inspired every day by people she
meets and her lowcountry surroundings. Boyd strives to strike a
balance between art and elegance in her designs, while winking
at trends and remaining timeless.
